High Pressure Laminates (HPL) is made up of six to eight layers of resin-impregnated craft paper, decorative paper and a clear overlay. In Malaysia, people call it as" Formica". It is considered to be one of the most durable decorative surface materials. Due to its durability, HPL are a common choice for horizontal surfaces including flooring, countertops and desktops. The high end brand - FENIX materials are highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, dry heat, acid-based solvents and household reagents. Thermal healing of superficial micro-scratches is also possible.
